Meet Susan Muschweck and Jillian Miller
Susan Muschweck Interior Design is a small, experienced Pittsburgh interior design firm specializing in kitchens, bathrooms, custom built-ins, furnishings, and remodeling projects. Together, Susan Muschweck and Jillian Miller guide each project from concept to completion, handling floor plans, elevations, cabinetry design, curated selections, contractor coordination, procurement, scheduling, site visits, and final installation details.
Susan Muschweck, Owner & Lead Designer
Susan is a communications and journalism graduate of Chatham University, which led to positions with major law firms and a directorship at Pittsburgh Magazine. This early experience gave Susan excellent grounding in budgeting and accountability and began her journey in matters of visual style.
Susan was then a General Manager and Marketing Director for real estate developments and shopping malls, which provided valuable construction, site design, and property management expertise.
Her innate sense of fashion and style then led to nearly two decades of award-winning set styling for broadcast, video, and print advertising, working with national and international directors and photographers. This honed her talents for color, composition, and putting stunning design together within real-world budgets.
Susan is an experienced interior stylist with the skills to bring approachable, elegant design to single rooms, whole homes, and office spaces. She brings design and construction knowledge to kitchens, bathrooms, remodeling projects, and custom interior details.
Susan is the mother of two daughters, Meredith and Isabel.
Jillian Miller, Senior Project Manager & Associate Designer
For more than a decade, Jillian has been an integral part of Susan Muschweck Interior Design, helping guide each project from concept to completion. With a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Penn State University, she brings spatial understanding, technical knowledge, and a thoughtful design perspective to every project.
Jillian plays a key role in floor plans, elevations, cabinetry design, curated selections, contractor coordination, scheduling, procurement, client communication, and on-site project details to ensure each phase runs smoothly. Her favorite projects include kitchens and built-ins, where she works closely with the firm’s custom carpenter to bring her designs to life.
Known for her friendly personality, genuine care for clients, and straightforward communication, Jillian helps keep projects efficient and enjoyable for everyone involved. After living in the city for ten years, she and her husband Rick now call the North Hills home, along with their fluffy, clumsy Sheepadoodle, Cosmo. They are currently renovating their house room by room, but never miss a chance to host family and friends.
